Natalie Boeyink is an accomplished bassist, violinist, pianist, composer and educator based in Bloomington, IN. She has worked primarily in jazz and Latin idioms as a bassist, and as a classical pianist and violinist.
A graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (BM Jazz Studies) and the University of Louisville (MM Jazz Performance), Ms. Boeyink is an active jazz bassist, adjudicator and educator. She is currently completing her doctorate in Music Education at IU and is the director of the Attica Strings Project, based in Attica, Indiana.
As a jazz bassist, Boeyink performs regularly as a member of the Jerry Tolson Trio and Quartet, and with Jeff Sherman in Louisville, KY, and Bob Stright in Bloomington, IN. She has shared the stage with Jovino Santos Neto, Joe Piscopo, David ‘Fathead’ Newman, Jon Hendricks, David Liebman and Lorraine Feather.
Trio Só Luz is her latest collaboration, playing contemporary Brazilian, American, and Afro-Cuban Jazz. Repertory includes classics by Baden Powell, Toninho Horta, Danilo Perez, Claire Fischer, Lord Kitchener, and George Gershwin, as well as original compositions.
